On April 28, 2026, an information session for students was successfully held at EPAL Platanias by PANETAIK S.A.<\/strong>. This action took place within the framework of the European project CSSBoost<\/strong> (Boosting Circular Systemic Solutions through Virtual Regional Circular Economy Space<\/em>), aiming to raise awareness within the educational community regarding circular economy and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Principles of the Circular Economy<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the Director of PANETAIK S.A., Ms. Maria Petrantonaki, presented the fundamental principles of the circular economy<\/sup>. She highlighted the critical importance of transitioning from the linear “take-make-dispose” model to a model that preserves the value of resources and minimizes waste<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The CSSBoost Project and Pilot 1 in Crete<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Following this, Ms. Katerina Litou, a project management associate at PANETAIK S.A., presented the CSSBoost<\/strong> project<\/sup>. The project is implemented under the Horizon<\/strong> program and involves 21 partners from 8 different countries<\/sup>. Its primary goal is to strengthen regional sustainability by promoting waste reduction and transforming waste into useful products like fertilizers and food<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With the contribution of the project’s external associate, Mr. Ioannis Troulis, the European pilot actions were presented, with a specific focus on Pilot 1 in Crete<\/strong><\/sup>. This pilot concentrates on the agri-food sector and the valorization of by-products through three main value chains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Livestock residues<\/strong>: Utilizing materials such as wool and leather.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Agricultural residues<\/strong>: Specifically focusing on legumes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
